Prosfygika – besetzte Nachbarschaft in Athen

Prosfygika, die größte Besetzung Griechenlands mit circa 500 Bewohnenden, lebt seit 15 Jahren ein widerständiges, selbstorganisiertes Leben im Zentrum von Athen und erschafft Lösungsansätze für eine Gesellschaft jenseits von Staat, Macht und Gewalt.

Die Bewohnenden organisieren und versorgen sich selbst und sind ein fundamentaler Bestandteil der anarchistischen Bewegung in Griechenland. Prosfygika ist ein Beispiel für gelebten Internationalismus, Basisorganisation und praktische Solidarität mit Geflüchteten.

Die Gemeinschaft ist als kollektiver Körper organisiert, der auf einem gemeinsamen Rahmenvertrag basiert.
Hauptmerkmale sind das gemeinschaftliche Eigentum an Ressourcen, Strukturen und Infrastrukturen, und eine gemeinsame politische Kultur und Perspektive.
Bedürfnisse aller Bewohner*innen werden kollektiviert und gemeinschaftlich basierend auf den Fähigkeiten und Möglichkeiten selbst-institutionalisiert erfüllt.

Dabei orientiert sich Prosfygika am Modell des Demokratischen Konföderalismus, der im kurdischen Befreiungskampf entwickelt wurde.
Doch Demokratischer Konföderalismus beschränkt sich nicht auf Rojava, sondern muss in jeder Lokalität entsprechend der lokalen Gegebenheiten entwickelt werden.

Prosfygika prägt eine Geschichte von Migration.
Die Community zeigt einen Gegenvorschlag zu dem staatlichen camp system auf, das Geflüchtete immer weiter aus Athen gedrängt hat.

Prosfygika – squatted neighborhood in Athens

Prosfygika, Greece’s largest squat with around 500 residents, has been living a resistant, self-organized life in the center of Athens for 15 years, creating solutions for a society beyond the state, power, and violence.

The residents organize and provide for themselves and are a fundamental part of the anarchist movement in Greece. Prosfygika is an example of lived internationalism, grassroots organizing, and practical solidarity with refugees.

The community is organized as a collective body based on a common framework agreement.

Its main features are the communal ownership of resources, structures, and infrastructure, and a shared political culture and perspective.

The needs of all residents are collectivized and fulfilled collectively based on their abilities and possibilities.

Prosfygika is based on the model of democratic confederalism developed in the Kurdish liberation struggle.

However, democratic confederalism is not limited to Rojava, but must be developed in each locality according to local conditions.

Prosfygika is shaped by a history of migration.

The community offers an alternative to the state camp system, which has increasingly pushed refugees out of Athens.
